I got PRK surgery last winter and haven't had any problems. It took me a long time to get up the nerves to get the surgery performed, now I am glad I did. I spent hours at the clinic simply asking quetions about how the procedures work (Lasik vs PRK) and what my expectations were. My Arizona eye doctor was very helpful. I had my eyes done at TLC four years ago and am very satisfied with the results. They have a series of really thorough pre-operative visits. They're not the cheapest, but why chance a bargain with your eyes?
