When to get lasik eye surgery?Palma My cousin is 15 years old and her eyes are pretty bad. I'd like her to have this LES asap, so when do you think is the earliest age she can have this procedure done yet still be safe? Thanks.
Douglass I work for a LASIK center. At our office, we recommend 21 years (that's when your vision is a little more stable, if you're not 21 when you do surgery, we have you sign an off-label, which says you're under 21 and you understand we recommend 21 years of age, but you still want to do the surgery and are willing to take the risk of your vision possibly changing again). We've done patients 18 without a problem and we have done patients younger than 18 (they do need their parents consent to do the surgery though. I recommend waiting until @ least 18 if not 21.
