Whats the worst your vision can be to get lasik surgery?Burt mine is -9 in one and -7.50 in the other and I'm only 18...I've had to wear contacts since i was like in 1st grade and I'm scared I'm gonna go blind so I want lasik
Anjelica It depends on the thickness of your cornea but if your thickness is normal than you have a low enough error to be corrected. However, there are other requirements such as you must have healthy corneas and your refraction should be stable for at least a year. Even if you pass those requirements you still need an evaluation to make sure your a good candidate.
Jacklyn what is the power of your contact lenses
Cody Yes, but u got to wear for about a few years time before getting lasik cos u r still younger..and laisk r more suitable for people older than 21.
Alvina any thing more than -7.00&+6.00 are idealfor lasik treament, in your case it suits the expections
Annalisa I had lasik at -10.75 in both eyes. The surgeon warned me that I might not qualify, but I did. It took two surgeries to get me to 20/20, but that's not a panacea. Within 6 months, I was back in glasses again, so I am proof that some people's eyes never stop regressing. At least I'm not wearing coke bottle glasses anymore, so I don't reget it. One warning, though, if you have the surgery, don't take any medication that warns that it may blur vision. If it does, your eyes may never recover from the blurring, and you will be right back in glasses again like I was.
Luella It is not so much the correction that you need, it is also how good your tears are and the thickness of your cornea as well as how recently and how often your eyes have changed. So, Your question is a good one, but it is just more complicated than that.
