Lasik and Laser eye surgery have become very common now. My cousin got her dental implants and lasik surgery in India by a company called Forerunners Healthcare. The Price for dental and lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India. as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star. Many patients travel from United States of America and UK to get low cost surgery in India. Indian corporate hospitals are comparable to hospitals anywhere in the world. In fact, India has medical facilities that are comparable with the USA, UK and Canada. India offers World Class Medical Facilities, comparable with any of the western countries. India has state of the art Hospitals and the best medical experts. With the best infrastructure, the best possible Medical facilities, accompanied with the most competitive prices, you can get the treatment done in India at the lowest prices. http://www.forerunnershealthcare.comHope this helps.

Glasses have worked well for me. I tried contacts but I would have had to get toric (weighted) lenses. They would be clear and then be blurry if I blinked or moved my head. I didn't like it. All in all, glasses are probably the more cost efficient solution. I had my glasses for about 8 years before I needed to change them, and it was only about $250 for another pair. Lasik might be nice, but I just don't see the cost-effectiveness of it.

Well i wear glasses and contact lens.Contacts are such a pain. And i dont really like wearing glasses, so im looking foward to lasik surgery...I think its your best bet.

Lasik surgery if you have the money and your eyes have stopped changing, but if you don't have the money, get contact lenses. I use Acuvue Oasys and I keep them in for weeks at a time, I never notice them (unless I rub my eyes). They say you can keep them in for 5 days, but I'm fine with them in for longer.

Lasik gets the job done and you go on your merry way until old age starts to change you vision. No more cost incurred for glasses or contacts. If your vision is REALLY bad it would be a wonderful thing to be able to see in an emergency in an unfamiliar location (hotel fire etc) when you may not be able to find your glasses or have no time for contacts.Soft lens - lets your eye breath, but still shouldn't stay in all the time. Gives you better vision than glasses because you are seeing from your eye and not seeing only what is cleared through the lens of your glasses.Glasses are better than nothing and should be owned even if you are going to depend on contact lenses.

i wear contact lenses, whatever brand i use, i dont notice i have them .. i used disposable ones but same as the guy above, i leave them on my eyes for so long, in fact i dont take them out unless i feel them in my eyes (like 1 month ) .. now a days after my last appointment to the doc i remove them now more often .disposables are the best choice. i planning to get lasik next year . i ask some opinion with regards to lasik, a doc told me that it goes back after 5 years .. but i guess its worth the try, 5 years is long enough to have perfect vision coming from a blurred one, isnt it? i used to wear eyeglasses for abt 8 years, eyeglasses made my eyes tires always to the point of irritating me, though its already ultra thin its still bothering me . it gives tired appearance too around my eyes.eyeglasses looks sexy if u choose good style so better have eyeglasses and contact lenses for function and style

I have wore the glasses, contacts (all types) and did lasik about 3 months ago. Pricey, but has been well worth it. Some insurance plans will cover some of the cost. I love waking up at night and seeing across the room, being in the rain and not get glasses wet or fogged up. not having to put in contacts and take them out. get references from your dr. for a lasik surgeon

i have contacts, but usually wear glasses, because my eyes have been easily irritated lately

I think that Lasek surgery is the most permanent, however, they say that your vision changes after 40, so if you are younger than that, there is a possibility that you might need it done again or still have to wear glasses/contacts even after having the surgery. I would definitely choose soft disposable contacts over hard ones (not a lot of people wear hard contacts anymore, unless you have a severe astigmatism, or have been wearing them for a long time and they work for you). I would recommend a type of contact that allows maximum oxygen through the lens, you would want to ask your doc about which is right for you. Depending on your insurance, you could get contacts for around $20 a box or less. A box is 3 pair, so they last 6 weeks. Remember, with contacts, you still will need glasses, for night time or other times when you want to rest your eyes. Good luck!
