Should i wait a little longer for lasik eye surgery?

Alysha
I am in my 20's, so I am old enough but a guy I play poker with is a eye doctor. He says that he sees people come in all the time having trouble with their eyes after the surgery. He said the chances of something seriously going wrong with your eyes are very slim but a lot of patients still have to wear glasses or get more surgery later on. What do you guys think, any of you that have had it have any complaints?

CustomVue lasik has a better success rate than conventional lasik.

i did think about it for a while:suddenly, about a month ago, i saw on the TV, a lot of people have the surgery, even though, they are not good candidates for it!Some doctors do the surgery, for the money! Some reasons, that people should NOT have lasik eye surgery:larger pupils(some people are born like that)dry eyes, and:corneas that are too thin. You don't know if you have any of these, your eye DR should evaluate your eyes.

CustomVue lasik has a better success rate than conventional lasik. I think the people who tend to still need glasses after lasik either were undercorrected (which is common in conventional lasik), had a super high prescription to begin with, older age, or develop some type of disease that effects eye sight. I had CustomVue about 2 weeks ago and I don't have any problems like glare and halo. I even have big pupils (new studies show that pupil size does not mean higher chance of halos or glare with customvue). If your prescription has been stable for more than 2 years, that also means a higher chance of your eyes staying the same and not needing more lasik later on. A lot of places offer a retreatment policy if you need it later. If you look online, most complaints come from conventional lasik, which is also about half the price than CustomVue. It's your peepers, you should choose the best available since you will have to live with with the result the rest of your life. If you get a good doc, its worth the money. I don't regret the money I spent at all! I'm 22 and had a prescription of -2.25 I choose to do it early because contacts weren't for me they were always dry. Plus, why not get more years of perfect sight out of my money. :)
