Your eye or eyes (if both are treated) will likely be quite blurry immediately after your LASIK surgery. Do not be alarmed. This is natural and expected. You will likely awaken the next morning after your LASIK surgery with much improved vision. Your vision should also improve over the first two to three weeks following surgery. It is best to carefully protect your operated eyes with shields or goggles while sleeping during the first week or as your surgeon advises. Also, be sure to use the eye drop medications in the manner that your surgeon prescribes. Be very cautious not to rub your operated eyes for the first month after surgery, as this may cause the flap to dislocate. In general, after the first few days, it is very unlikely that you could dislocate your flap by rubbing your eye, but be cautious nevertheless.

I had my Lasik surgery done over a year ago. My vision was awful right after surgery, and throughout the night. I was super, super light sensitive. But, when I woke up the next morning, my vision was great. Less than 24 hours after the surgery, I went to my next day follow up appointment, and my vision was 20/25! I was originally about 20/200. By my one week follow up, I was at 20/15. So, my blurry vision lasted about 18 hours. If you are still having problems, I would call the surgeon. Didn't you have a one day follow up appointment? My surgeon saw me post-op at one day, one week and one month.The answerer above me has great tips for how to care for your eyes after surgery! There really is nothing I can add to that!
