I went to this site called www.uslasereyesurgery.com and it had all kinds of information about LASIK as well as a doctor directory for your site. It helped me for sure.

Well just so you know it doesnt always work my dad's co-worker and boss had LASIK done, but they both STILL have to wear glasses. Personally i think it is a waste of money. For a while his boss and co-worker could see perfectly fine, but now they are back to wearing glasses, their glasses are weaker then they were before. But they still have to where them none the less.

My wife had it done about nine months ago and for the first few months had severe dry eye. It was so bad she regretted the surgery.

I am a lawyer and I represent a 29-year old woman who needs a dual corneal transplant after LASIK. LASIK has real risks. Don't take my word for it - ask your doctor or do some research about "post-operative corneal ectasia." Ten thousand people may answer now and tell you that their surgery went fine. But do you really want to be the rare exception when you are talking about your sight!Take the cash you would spend on the surgery and buy yourself a beautiful pair of eyeglasses.

Alright., I don't actually know of any web resources, but I'll tell you my experience with lasik. It was the best thing ever!!! I had it done at the Laser Vision Institute, Salt Lake City.I went to an eye doctor for a general exam, then a second visit for some more specific tests. All that was a go, so I made the surgery appointment. They made sure I realized that they would do further tests the day of surgery, so I still may not be a candatite, or may have to have a different type of surgery, and the costs for that may not be the same.I couldn't wear my contacts for 2 weeks prior to surgery, which was a pain! I showed up bright and early in the morning. They did two more quick tests, and I was a perfect candidate. They offered me a valium in case I was nervous, but I declined.The surgery itself took 90 seconds per eye. You lay back in a chair, and look at a red dot. They put a thingy in your eye to hold the lid open, then there is slight pressure on your eyeball and your vision goes dark for a very brief moment, then comes back, you stare at the light for a couple seconds, they put a bunch of drops in, take out the thing holding you lids, and voila! You are done. Things were a bit blurry from the lubricating drops, but I could immediately see across the room.They sent me home with lots of eyedrops, sunglasses, and clear shields taped over my eyes which I had to wear for the first day for protection, and for nights for a little while afterward so I would inadvertly rub my eyes in my sleep.The next morning, I went in for my checkup, and had 20/20 vision. It was amazing. My eyes were sensitive to light for a few months afterwards, I got a good pair of sunglasses and it was no problem. I also had a little bit of a halo effect around bright lights at night for about a year, but it eventually went a way and was actually barely noticeable. Now, 5 years later, my vision is better than 20/20 and I have pretty much forgotten I ever even wore glasses or contacts. It was a very, very simple and easier procedure. My entire cost was $798. I recommend it highly!My husband tried to get it done, and found out the morning of the surgery he is not a good candidate, so went home disappointed with contacts, so be aware that can happen.
