How well can lasik correct vision?

Carlo
I've heard that lasik can provide better than 20/20 vision. I was wondering how good it can make someone's eye sight, i.e. what's the max, 20/15, 20/10, etc?

I've had patients who could pick a few letters off the 20/10 line but 20/15 to 20/20 is more likely the scenario for best corrected vision. The chances of achieving such incredible vision is improved through the new technology of Wavefront, or CustomVue treatments. see www.VISX.com or learn more from your local ophthalmologist who performs such surgery.Best wishes, David Leach, MD, FACSRefractive Surgeon www.CVeyes.com

The procedure reshapes the cornea of your eye with lasers. The people that I know, who had it done have vision of about 20/15. Do LOTS of research on the doctor and the facility. Get lots of references. The most common complaint is halo vision at night, which makes driving and seeing at night difficult. This will stay with you for anywhere from 3-6 months. On rare occasion it doesn't go away. So go in knowing that there are some rare failures with it all. Good luck.

It varies from individual to individual. No one can predict this ahead of time.By the same token, there have been numerous case where a person has become worse after this procedure than before.

Its pretty good, though it can cause halos around bright lights at night.Google "lasik night driving"

i imagine it could correct below 20/20, but you probably wont find a doc who will do that.
