How much money does it cost to have lasik surgery for lazy eyes?Bradley Its just for one eye...
Adalberto lasik surgery is not for "lazy eye".lasik surgery can correct near and far sightedness, and probably some astigmatism. it does not affect the muscle control of the eye, which is the cause of lazy eye.
Micki "Lazy eye" is a common term for strabismus, which can lead to amblyopia. Strabismus is a misalignment of the eyes; they don’t both look at the same place in the distance. Amblyopia is low vision quality due, in part, to the multiple images caused by the eyes' misalignment.Lasik is used to reduce myopia (nearsighted, shortsighted) or hyperopia (farsighted, longsighted) vision. Lasik does not help strabismus, nor can Lasik improve amblyopia. Lasik is primarily to reduce the need for glasses, but glasses are probably exactly what you need. For mild strabismus, eye glasses can include a prism that helps align the images. Even contact lenses cannot do this. For details about Lasik and strabismus, see: http://www.usaeyes.org/faq/subjects/strabismus.htmFor Lasik costs, see: http://www.usaeyes.org/lasik/faq/lasik-cost-price.htmGlenn HageleCouncil for Refractive Surgery Quality AssuranceUSAEyes
Debrah If someone is trying to talk you into Lasik for a lazy eye, see another Ophthamologist. Lasik is for correction of visual acuity, not muscle imbalance. Too, if you have waited too long, the brain may have already learned to ignore the impulses from one eye, so correcting vision will not help. You can have a perfect, 20/20 eye that sees 20/400 - it is a BRAIN problem, and Lasik cannot fix it.
