I couldn't have the Lasik surgery but I did have PRK, which is somewhat similar and from what the Dr told me, costs the same. Here in Louisiana it is $799 per eye. I had to pay $1099 per eye since my vision was really horrible. For about a week or so after the surgery, I was so miserable that I wished I hadn't even done it. But, that went away and now I can see perfectly. I used to have 20/1250 vision with astigmatisms in both eyes. Now I am 20/20. Absolutely amazing.

It was going to cost about $1000 to do my eyes, but I found out my insurance doesn't cover it, so I won't be doing it.
