Has anyone had lasik eye surgery? how were the results and was it painful? cost?Kari
I am 25, and I want to get rid of wearing glasses all together. I think that they block my beauty; no wearing them will definately boost my confidence. Give me some feedback and let me know what you guys think.

I've never had it done but I've looked into it before. The procedure is painless, though you'll need someone to drive you home due to the eye drops they use during the procedure. The results, from what I hear and the statistics I've seen, tend to be quite good. Most people get at least 20/20 vision, some can achieve 20/15 with it. Since it's a relatively new procedure there's been no real long term studies done to see if the results are permanent. I believe the longest study done was over a 10 year period (or so) and most people still had reasonably good vision after that period (give or take slight variations due to age and statistical variation).If you follow the doctors instructions then the risk of infection is minimal. You should have perfect vision, or nearly so--possibly better than "perfect"--the next day.The cost should be pretty good now. Check around, often since the procedure is something everyone wants the doctors that perform it have to compete and you'll be able to get a pretty good deal. Just be sure you know that he or she has been well trained and has done a good number of them.Good luck!

My grandpa had it done. He said it wasn't painful, but he had alzheimer's so he probably didn't remember. He's dead now, but don't worry. It wasn't from Lasik surgery.

I think it's a Great idea my aunt say it was totally worth it my aunt had it done when she was 25 ( almost 26) she says it dodn't urt that much and the cost DEFINATLy evened out in the end she says it was so much eaiser than worrying about her glass and her contacts and paying for them and my aunt looks a lot more beatutiful after the surgery she got married and our noe expecting a boy ( due in september)

I had lasik almost 5 yrs ago. It wasn't painful at all. I think I paid about $2500. I had a strong astigmatism in both eyes; no myopia (nearsightedness) or hyperopia (farsightedness). Three yrs after the sugery, about half of my my astigmatism came back. Now I need my glasses again for computer work or reading, b/c my eyes get tired. I knew going into the surgery that there was a 1 in 30, 000 chance that my astigmatism would come back. I don't regret doing it.
