Has anyone had lasik eye care surgery that also had stigmatism?Arlette I am completely clueless about this. Are they able to do that? Does it make it more expensive? Does it hurt or did it scare you when you had the procedure done? Do they sedate you when they do the procedure?
Byron They are able to do it, I have really bad astigmatism and have been told that even my eyes are fixable. It does cost more money which is why I haven't done it yet. With astigmatism your eyes are more complicated and so more expensive to perform surgery on. I've been told that it doesn't hurt, and they don't fully put you under because they can't. But they would keep you calm. So I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure that you find a reputable doctor if you have it done. Your eyes are important. Especially if you have astigmatism. You can't have one of those $199 cookie cutter procedures and not just anybody can do it. Get somebody good.
Latina Lasik surgery can correct astigmatism as well as near sightedness. (I had both) There was very little discomfort. At worst, at one point it felt like I had a grain of sand in my eye (with the corneal flap cut.) I was not sedated beyond some numbing eye drops. The whole procedure is over in less than 10 minutes. Astigmatism will not raise the price unless you have it extremely bad; it just varies the cut. I am very happy with the results of my lasik 6 years ago.
