Does lasik laser surgery corrects the vision properly?

Delma
I want to go for lasik laser surgery. no. of my glasses is above 4. i wanna ask whether my eyes will be totally corrected or there will be some minor no. (0.25 to 0.50) will be left. Does 20/20 vision means that there is not even 0.25 no. is left in your eye.

Lasik Eye Surgery should completely recover your vision problems and fully adjust your eyesight. Good luck!

You have asked some very good questions. I will answer in 3 parts.a) LASIK is an excellent procedure, which is quite safe and effective. The goal with LASIK ought to be complete independence from having to wear glasses or contact lenses to see clearly. This is a goal which LASIK fulfils for most patients ( > 95%).b) The current gold standard for lasik is a post-operative refraction within +/- 0.5 Diopters. The very latest laser technology, coupled with a good doctor has more than a 90% chance of being within this range. This is a range for which one normally does not need to wear glasses for.c) You can have unaided vision of 20/20 or 6/6 even if you have a minor error left in the eye. In fact, unaided vision is what the lasik surgeon or patient should be most concerned with.In fact, most people who do not wear glasses will accept a minor correction like 0.25 Diopters. Yet they do not need, and do not perceive to need any form of correction. This is also true after LASIK.
