Does having a high agstigmatism affect your postlasik surgery recovery time?Arlinda Basically I just have a high agstigmatism and nothing else. Will my vision stabilize more slowly because of this after LASIK or should I expect the same recovery time as other patients?
Maribel No. The amount of pre op astigmatism has no effect upon your recovery time. Quite significant amounts of astigmatism can be handled very well with LASIK but EXTREMELY large amounts (you will need to ask you doctor if you fit this category) may not be able to be completely corrected.
Jc I'm not sure about the recovery time, but I do know that because of the agstigmatism you may not be a good candidate for lasik. If the docs feel you to high of a risk they will not do the surgery. You should probably clear it with them to see if are eligible for surgery. If you are they will let you know the recovery time.
