I think the difference is that Lasik is a common medical practice. If you got surgery to improve your vision to abnormally good levels that would be one thing, but doing that is technically difficult due to the architecture of the eye.There is also the question of effects: such eye surgeries don't improve your vision beyond what contact lenses would do, and banning contacts would send a huge chunk of MLB players out of the game.

Seriously? You think corrective surgery is the same as performance enhancing drugs? Do you also think it would be cheating for a paraplegic player to have surgery that would help him walk again? If you fail to see the fundamental difference between steroids and corrective surgery, then I don't think any argument is going to change your opinion.

no, it's just making your vision the same as it would be if you wore glasses or contacts, and it's legal and safe. the fact that it is safe is very important because the reason that steroids are illegal is that they are very harmful to your body if taken long-term.

of course not! you are at a disadvantage compared to the rest of the players if you can't see completely clearly. thats like asking if its cheating to have glasses or contacts, which of course its not since people need them. its the same thing, just getting it fixed quicker. if your eyes aren't 20-20, something needs to be done about it, to make it more fair for YOU, not less fair for OTHER people

How could it be cheating, not everybody has good eyes, some people do have to wear glasses, and sometimes you break them, or accidently fall a sleep in them, they can get get bend, you can lose them. And that is suppose to help you imrpove your version, of where you don't need to put on glasses, or contact lens to help you see better. It is better then being blind. And not everybody can see. It not as cheating as you know other things like corking your bat, and then using it in game play, and risk being caught. Or as you put it steriods, I don't think anybdoy has gotten punished because they had to get Lasik surgey so that they can see better.

Definitely not! It's just restoring your eyesight to the point where eyeglasses or contact lenses are not needed anymore. Look at Tiger Woods! He had Lasik surgery, but before he did, he still had a lot of championships already under his belt. That's not cheating. Taking steroids will make your eyesight weaker and your muscles too tight to throw a ball and swing a bat, so that's also not definitely cheating..... Only destroying your body, except for when you use it as directed to lessen injury effects or to relieve asthma.

ummm considering that lasik makes you see 20/20 not above 20/20... no it is not cheating.And even if you were the bionic woman / man and could see 200 / 20 (you can see clearly at 200 ft what others can see at 20 ft) it would not make you hit better, that just skill !!! what a dumb comparison, hgh and lasik.
