Do the navy pays for lasik eye surgery?Romaine I would like to become a Navy Seal. I know it's hard and demanding but thats parts OK. It's my eyes I am blind as hell and wont to be a Navy Seal. So I was wondering do the Navy pay for the surgery, and if so would they pay for it befor you join.
Brady You can get on a list to try and get it done after you are in the military, but there are only a few people that get to have optional surgeries. If you really want to be a Seal, you would have to get it done before then. They are not going to decide you qualify to be a Seal, but need the surgery so they do it for you. There are enough candidates trying to get in that don't need vision correction. It is a competitive field and your eyesight would easily disqualify you.
Collette NO.
Julissa They pay for a procedure that is similar to lasik, but its not lasik.
Herb Not for navy
Brice Call up your local recruiter, I think they would be able to answer your question best. Good luck, I appreciate your willingness to serve!
Cristi I know in boot camp they make you wear goofy glasses...No contacts allowed. They might pay for it depending on your job after that but I doubt it. My best friends in the navy and i asked him about it once...I was interested in joining and I wear contacts!
