Lizeth Age 15 is too young for Lasik laser eye surgery correction. Your eyes are still changing. The changes made by Lasik are permanent, so you want your eyes to be stable first. http://www.usaeyes.org/lasik/faq/lasik-a…You are not asleep (general anesthetic) during Lasik. You are awake and aware, however your eyes will be fully numbed before anything happens. It is an odd feeling watching all these things happen in front of you but feel none of it. It is like watching something on TV.The surgery itself requires 15-25 minutes each eye, but you would spend a few hours at the clinic going through the last tests and preperation. http://www.usaeyes.org/lasik/faq/lasik.h…Lasik recovery can be almost immediate to several days, even weeks. Everyone heals differently. The vast majority of people are able to function the day of surgery and function well the day after, however many activities like swimming and make-up are restricted for a longer period of time. http://www.usaeyes.org/lasik/faq/lasik-r…
Darnell Im using contacts since more than 20 years. There is a lots of problems with lasik and surgery that you dr. will don't tell you.Remember that if you go to surgery NEVER after you can use contacts. And there is a lot of vision problems after th surgery.Think it .Good luck!!!
Flora Recommended age is usu mid twenties. You are awake for the entire procedure.Lots of pre-op but actual procedure is less than 10 minutes.Speak with your optometrist.
Carma I had lasik, the longest part was the preparation. They flood your eyes with drops to dialate your eyes and then with antibiotic drops and you have to wait for those to work. Once that is done, the surgery itself takes just minutes.
Aurore I don't know how old you have to be, but if your parents sign and your eyes fit the eyes assessment you can have the surgery. It takes 15minutes from the time you walk in until the time you walk out. Your vision will be really blurry and your eyes might sting a bit, but the next day color is sooo cool to see at 20/20 vision
