They do not have the technology to correct the need for bifocals. Basically needing bifocals isn't because your eye is bad it is because your eye has lost it's ability to focus because the eye muscles are getting weak and have lost their flexibility. If you were to have lasik surgery now to completely correct your distance vision, you will end up either needing reading glasses or bifocals anyway. They do have a surgery called mono vision though where they do not correct one of the eyes all the way, it gives you one eye that works more as a distance eye and the other works as the reading eye. The eyes end up working together. The one problem with this is that it does take away your sharpness in your distance vision and my not give you super sharp upclose vision. You give up a little of both to be able to see both without glasses. What most people do who get mono vision get driving glasses for night driving. One thing you can do is get fitted for contacts in mono vision before doing the lasik that way you can see if you can adjust to the mono vision, some people are not able to adjust to it, so you wouldn't want to have the surgery to find out you get sick and dizzy afterwards.
