Can i get lasik eye surgery to fix my left eye while in the military?Marcellus It would be better if you are truthful at MEPS. As long as your vision can be corrected with eyeglasses you can join, provided that there are no other disqualifiers.Lasik will be provided at no cost to personnel but in a certain order of priority. Top priority is for combat troops or those who are about to deploy. Next category is personnel who aren't deploying, but can deploy. Next come troops who have jobs that don't deploy. All lasik provided at no cost is only available in Active Duty. And hopefully you choose a job that does deploy or is combat-related. Otherwise, the list ahead of you may continually be elongated by new troops arriving with combat and deployable jobs.
Echo I was talking to a recruiter about a similar thing. He said that the military will actually pay for it if you enter with glasses or whatever.
Macie Yes but last I heard the wait right now is really long. What do you mean "if you didn't tell them"? They're going to find out when they examine your eye.
Elmo If you need it, yes.
Calista yes
