Are halos and night glares worse after lasik?Le Currently, my astigmatism causes night glares and halos at night. makes driving in some dark places challenging. I know night glares and halos are possible to still be present after Lasik. Has anyone experienced the glaring or halos worse or better. or the same?
Deangelo I worked for an Ophthalmologist that performed LASIK and most patients complained of halos and glare after their procedure but it tended to improve for the majority of people as time went on. It does vary and not everybody will have the same effects after LASIK, but it is definitely one of the risks associated with the procedure.
Maragret I just had the Custom Wavefront lasik done about a month ago. I still have trouble w/ halos, starburting, and glare at night time. My doctor says I should give it 4-8 more weeks to improve. I'm hopeful that my night vision will improve by then. Report Abuse
Dalton I work for an ophthalmologist who does Lasik. Your best bet is to go talk to a dr about it. There is a risk of it getting worse, but it varies person to person. Unfortunately, it's not one of those things you can find out before the surgery. There are many different types of Lasik. Maybe one of them is better at preventing halos for people with astigmatism. Good Luck!
Arlene you might wanna see Dr Thomas Tooma for this. Hes a great doc.
Anisa I had lasik in may, 2006. My halos and stars were cumbersome after lasik, but it gradually got better and eventually went away. My mom had horrible vision and had lasik in 2004 and she still has halos and stars. It definitely depends on the person but for the majority of people, halos eventually go away after surgery.
Mack Yes, for some time, it is worse for most people. From http://eye-care.in
