Are both eyes operated on at the same time during lasik eye surgery?Emerita They do both your eyes one at a time in the same appointment. I had it done, I was legally blind, it was the best thing I have ever done! Yeah there is a difference in seeing it done and having it done. Again, both eyes get done in the same appointment. It's a wonderful thing!!! And to the person who thumbs down me, get a clue.Learn how to read first.
Marva It depends on the surgeon and the procedure. If it is LASIK most doctors do both eyes the same day. There are still some doctors who prefer to do them a week or so apart.
Carmelo Not literally at the same time, but they are done during the same operative time, if that's what you mean. At least, that's the normal procedure. I suppose there might be reasons why you'd do them one at a time. But they do one eye, then the next, then you go home, if that's what you mean. *g*
Coralee In my observation, no, the surgeon does one eye and then the other right after it. each eye has it's own unique curves and refractive errors and the computer is set up for them individually, that and the doctor watches the proceedure very closely as it is done on each eye.
